Six new and noteworthy bid opportunities at the California Department of Technology, Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Insurance and the California State University System.

  • The California State University System is seeking a data center support solution that can scale on-demand and be available 24/7. The CSU seeks a solution utilizing some or all of traditional data center outsourcing, infrastructure as a service and platform as a service. The solution should provide continued PeopleSoft configuration control with required flexibility.
  • The California Department of Technology is seeking a provider of Salesforce subscription services that will be available to customers statewide. It will be added to the department's software-as-a-service (SaaS) catalog. The maximum amount of the agreement is not to exceed $5 million, although the exact value is based on the number of subscribers. Responses are due Oct. 18.
  • The Department of Motor Vehicle's Information Services Division is inviting vendors to participate in a multi-phase proof of concept for a solution that can track spending data for IT across the enterprise. The department says it needs granular spending data on employees and personnel; IT services, software and hardware; and development and administration. The solution should be able to accept data collected in various formats and organize it by products and services. The solution may be an on-premise option or cloud-based. Initial responses are due Oct. 19.
  • This week the Department of Technology released an RFQ for Ciena equipment and software that will be delivered to the Office of Technology Services' Gold Camp data center. Quotes are due Oct. 10.
  • Can Poly San Luis Obispo is seeking data warehouse automation tool, enabling the university's engineers to quickly develop and maintain ETL processes, scripts and job streams. Proposals are due Oct. 21.
  • The California Department of Insurance is seeking to buy cloud-based services for e-discovery purposes under a proposed three-year period. Responses are due Oct. 14.
