CCISDA Revs Up for Tech

When California's county CIOs and state IT leaders gathered this week in Pomona for their spring conference, it was mostly business — but there was time for fun and team-building, as well. Techwire was there and recorded some images for posterity.

"Revving Up Government Technology" was the theme this week for the spring conference of the California Counties Information Services Directors Association (CCISDA), held in Pomona and attended by more than 90 vendors and dozens of IT leaders from county and state governments.

Some topics were as serious as could be — disaster recovery, cybersecurity and the criminal justice system. But time was also carved out for lighter activities  team-building exercises such as a photo scavenger hunt and a pinewood derby.

Take one conference center full of techies, add tools and hardware and paint and other accessories, set up a Hot Wheels-like track, turn on the sound effects, and let the fun begin. Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!
