CDT Information Security Leadership Academy Accepting Applications

Ideal candidates are public-sector employees with a vision for enterprise-wide thinking, strong potential for career advancement into executive or senior management positions, or aspiring information security officers with experience carrying out their organizations’ missions and visions.

The California Department of Technology’s Information Security Leadership Academy (ISLA) is accepting applications from public-sector information security professionals interested in leading security teams to protect vital government IT resources.

The course will be delivered online from July 7 through Sept. 10.

“Participants will be able to attend the academy virtually,” said Brenda Bridges Cruz, deputy director of the department’s Office of Professional Development. “This enables us to extend training opportunities to all public-sector personnel across the state.”

ISLA 2021 has been refreshed with new course offerings and includes preparation and an exam voucher for the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification.

The academy is open to employees of state, county and city agencies and departments that work in information security. Ideal candidates are individuals with a vision for enterprise-wide thinking, strong potential for career advancement into executive or senior management positions, or aspiring information security officers with experience carrying out their organizations’ missions and visions. The application deadline is April 29.
