Tong, Cruz to Speak at CDT Vendor Forum

The California Department of Technology is hosting a Vendor Forum next Friday in Sacramento, and state CIO Amy Tong and Deputy CIO Chris Cruz will be among the speakers. Space is limited and reservations are strongly recommended.

The California Department of Technology is hosting a Vendor Forum from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 12, in Sacramento.

State CIO Amy Tong and Deputy CIO Chris Cruz will be among the speakers.

CDT hosts these events twice a year as a means of helping vendors who are interested in doing business with the state. Vendors will also be given an opportunity to ask questions, make suggestions and provide feedback on the information provided.

Because space is limited, each company is asked to send no more than two people. The forum will be recorded and made available for those who are not able to attend.

The event will be at the California Lottery building, 700 N. 10th St., Sacramento. The event is free, but registration is required and may be done online.

Stephanie Tom, CDT deputy director for broadband and digital literacy, previewed the event Thursday for Techwire: "It's a pillar event that we conduct to make sure our vendor-partner relationships are fruitful," Tom said. Cruz will deliver opening remarks, and Tong will speak at the end. There will be a question-and-answer period at the conclusion, and then time for networking.

The event is jointly presented by CDT, the Department of General Services, CalNet, CalCloud and the state's cybersecurity team.

"We do have a full agenda for the [itinerary]," Tom said, and about 125 people are expected.
