Jason Schwartz has been named regional manager for California state and local government at CDW-G, a provider of multi-brand tech solutions including hardware, software and integrated components in cybersecurity, cloud, networking and data.

A longtime manager at CDW-G, including a nearly nine-year stint as senior account manager that began in 2005, Schwartz had previously been inside regional manager for the Western region, including California, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii.

In that role, Schwartz’s responsibilities had included “hiring and performance management, territory plans, pipeline management, forecasting and ownership of SLED/state contracts,” he said on LinkedIn. He assumed his new role on Nov. 1.

“We’ve had strong growth in California in state and local and in order to continue the momentum, we’re investing in a new position to continue the growth we’ve experienced and to continue to help our customers serve their mission,” he told Techwire. Schwartz, who holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the University of Iowa, was also sales manager of CDW-G’s corporate sales academy throughout 2014.

In March, CDW-G was among 17 companies chosen by the state Department of General Services for Mandatory Statewide Contracts, to be used by state and local government to purchase data center equipment. The company was designated to sell in the Hewlett Packard Enterprise “OEM (original equipment manufacturer) silo.”

Martin Spellman

CDW-G has also named Martin Spellman IV as field account executive for Bay Area state and local, effective Oct. 1. Spellman was previously at Cradlepoint, rising in nearly four years from business development representative to public sector account manager for state, and higher and lower education in California, Nevada and Hawaii.

Spellman holds an associate’s in criminal justice and corrections from California State University, Fullerton, and has a Consultative Sales Certification from the Consultative Sales Academy.
