The California Highway Patrol spent almost $15 million in the first two months of 2021 on IT goods, according to data from the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal).
The largest single expenditure on IT goods in January and February was $11,079,684 for rear-facing cameras for its patrol fleet and other vehicles. That contract, awarded Jan. 28 as a statewide contract, was with COBAN Technologies of Texas.
The next-largest contract was for $1,289,488, for a bundle listed as “Threat Prevention, DNS, PANDB URL Filtering, GlobalProtect, WildFire, SD-WAN, Standard Support,” purchased Jan. 26 through Enterprise Networking Solutions of Rancho Cordova on a statewide contract.
The CHP spent $1,110,570 for Microsoft Surface tablets, purchased Jan. 21 through PC Specialists Inc. on a statewide contract.
The next-largest expenditure was for $791,509 for Microsoft Performance Support for the agency, purchased Jan. 21 through Zones LLC of Auburn, Wash., via California’s Software Licensing Program contract.
The fifth-largest expenditure by the CHP was for $571,291 for break/fix protection and support, purchased Feb. 22 through EPlus of Herndon, Va.
