College District Recruiting for IT Supervisor

Problem-solving and change management are among the desirable qualifications for this position in the Sacramento area.

The Los Rios College District, California’s second-largest two-year public college district, is recruiting for a Technical Services Supervisor in its IT division.

The position is that of a working supervisor responsible for planning, organizing, supervising and participating in the activities of the District IT Technical Services Team; ensuring timely and accurate problem-solving, system testing, and change management; maintaining user relations; assuring compliance with district policies and principles of good IT practices; preparing internal and external documents and activity reports; and supervising, training and evaluating the performance of assigned personnel. Other responsibilities include:

  • Plans, supervises, and participates in the implementation and maintenance of physical and virtual networks, servers, and storage environments, wired and wireless environments, telephony, network and application software, database systems, web and application servers, and client computing environments.
  • Assures compliance with district policies and Information Technology Department procedures.
  • Ensures system and data security, implements support procedures, including maintaining inventory and ensuring operational performance of District technology infrastructure and equipment, smart classrooms, and meeting rooms.
  • Monitors and supervises version upgrades and enhancements of network/desktop operating systems and application software.
