Beginning Monday, Techwire will publish a variety of stories examining several aspects of the transition from Waterfall methodology to the Agile approach. These pieces will include insiders' commentaries, industry voices and some nuggets of news related to one of the most significant procedural and philosophical changes to affect state IT governance in years.

The adoption of Agile methodology in state IT governance is a work in progress — two years in, some agencies are fully on board, while others are still finding their way toward that goal.

Along the way, state IT leaders and industry representatives have met to reassess and refine the rules, attended educational forums and participated in breakout sessions with the goal of streamlining and standardizing IT development and procurement practices.
