CWDS Names New Chief of Product Development

Child Welfare Digital Services, a project of the Office of Systems Integration in the California Health and Human Services Agency, has named a new director of Product Development.

Andrea Hollen has been named director of Product Development for Child Welfare Digital Services, a project of the Office of Systems Integration in the California Health and Human Services Agency.

Hollen has a background in military service as well as the private and public sectors in IT. After almost 12 years in the U.S. Army as a company commander in Europe, she was an executive consultant for Schlumberger; a senior manager for emerging technologies for BearingPoint; and then spent years as a consultant and an executive on loan for nonprofits before joining OSI in September.

“I am impossibly privileged to be (re)entering public service to bring together policy/practice advisers, digital service managers, product owners, UX designers, platform architects, software engineers and data engineers in delivering California's next Child Welfare Information System," she says in her LinkedIn profile. "Our aim is to support good Child Welfare practice — to keep children safe and promote permanency and well-being — while creating an unparalleled data asset that equips both researchers and practitioners to make sense of evidence and identify what works.”
