Department Recruiting for 2 Key Executive Roles

“The DMV is on an aggressive digital transformation journey and is looking to build on the initial success of our mobile and online products and services,” one of the job postings states.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles is recruiting for two key agency roles dealing with technology – a deputy director and a project director.

The deputy director is sought to oversee DMV’s Digital Services Division.

“The DMV is on an aggressive digital transformation journey and is looking to build on the initial success of our mobile and online products and services,” the job posting says. “This position is a rare opportunity to build an organization that is expanding digital innovation and developing a culture of innovation focused on the customer experience. This role will partner closely with the management team to create new functions, roles and methodologies in order to embrace this transformational challenge in the most efficient and effective way.”

This position is appointed by the governor, and it has a monthly salary range of $11,760 to $13,098. The recruitment will continue until the position is filled.

DMV is also recruiting for a modernization project director (Career Executive Assignment) to lead the department’s Modernization Project Office.

“The incumbent provides executive and strategic leadership to direct, manage and supports DMV’s modernization projects with updated technology broadly supported by the industry,” the job posting says. The project director “recommends, develops and administers the DMV’s modernization applications and infrastructure and will direct the formulation and implementation of new technology services to meet the future needs of the DMV.”

Additional detail about the position is available in the duty statement. The position has a monthly salary range of $10,360 to $12,341, and the application deadline is July 12.
