Department Seeking Applicants for Architecture Supervisor, System Function Tester

The state Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) is recruiting for two IT positions in the Sacramento office. The online application deadline for both is Sunday.

DCSS is seeking an architecture innovation supervisor (IT supervisor II) for the Digital Innovation and Tools Management Unit to oversee and enhance complex technical architecture. “The IT Sup II will provide leadership to align technical architecture with enterprise standards, conduct architecture reviews, and implement new and innovative technology architecture,” the job listing says.   

Candidates should have:

  • Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to exchange and/or provide information to management, staff, customers, and others
  • Knowledge of leadership principles and practices

  • Knowledge of IT policies and procedures to conform to industry standards and IT best guidelines
  • Ability to coordinate with staff on project and operational issues and status for successful delivery
  • Ability to develop, evaluate, and present proposals, technical information for IT solutions, and services metrics that demonstrate customer value, experience, and/or satisfaction for effective recommendations and decisions
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with executives, peers, contractors, and staff
  • Experience in the enterprise system architecture technology areas, such as Web-based thin client architecture, Message Oriented Middleware Architecture, and Service-Oriented Architecture
  • Object-oriented programming knowledge and experience
  • Experience supporting large and complex automated systems using custom and off-the-shelf enterprise applications
The position has a monthly salary range of $6,683 to $8,955.

DCSS is also seeking a system functional tester (IT specialist 1) to perform systems test work using the agile methodology and participate with others within the unit on complex  projects or those with an unusually broad scope. The position is in the Testing Unit, Applications Development & Testing Branch within the Technology Services Division.

Desirable qualifications, as per the job posting, include:

  • Functional and automation testing experience
  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language queries
  • Interface testing experience
  • Experience in Agile System Development Lifecycle
  • Ability to work within an Agile Delivery Team comprised of highly motivated individuals
  • Self-starter, team player, organized and an excellent communicator
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with peers
The monthly salary range is $5,118 to $8,280.
