Department Seeks .NET Developer to Work on Website

The position calls for expertise in C# programming for .NET with Visual Studio; experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems or products; and an ability to analyze requirements and assess their feasibility.

The California Department of Human Resources is recruiting for a .NET developer (IT Specialist I) to modify and maintain the state jobs website, CalCareers.

The CalCareers system is the public-facing side of the Examination and Certification Online System (ECOS). That system is used to post job and exam applications to, and receive information back from, the state’s CalCareers job website. The incumbent will work closely with the ECOS team.

The developer will serve as a project leader on complex applications and system problems, the job posting says. “The incumbent will produce solutions that are scalable, supportable, secure and stable. This includes being responsible for assessment of business cases, appropriate solutions, and application of the system development project life cycle to ensure successful solutions implementation with appropriate levels of communication, risk management, project planning and documentation.”

Desirable qualifications include:
— Expertise in C# programming for .NET with Visual Studio.
— Experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems or products.
— Ability to analyze requirements and assess their feasibility.
— Ability to design viable screen interfaces, software module specifications and interface specifications that fully address business requirements.
— Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
— Ability to test application module, integration, regression, and acceptance testing. Testing responsibilities include development of business case rules, test cases, and test plans to be used in conducting testing, validation and verification.

The monthly salary range is $5,457 to $8,826, and the recruitment will be ongoing until the position is filled.
