Update: DGS Rescinds Plan to Remove Online Documents

UPDATE: The Department of General Services said Friday morning that it has rescinded a plan to take website forms and other documents offline by Monday.

UPDATE: The state Department of General Services issued an “urgent and time-sensitive bulletin” Friday morning rescinding a warning that its Procurement Division is removing many reference materials from its website because of noncompliance with new accessibility requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The removal of materials, which was to take effect Monday, would have included procurement forms, policies, procedures, instructions and templates. The original bulletin noted that, according to DGS, many reference materials on the site may not comply with the ADA’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Techwire will follow and report on any further developments or announcements from DGS.
