Quentin Wright, a veteran of state service who spent more than two decades as IT Manager for the Department of Motor Vehicles, has been named Deputy Director for Technology and Administration of the California Office of Traffic Safety.

Wright's appointment took effect this month.

He is a graduate of the 25th class of the state's Information Technology Leadership Academy (ITLA), which serves as a professional finishing school for those seeking positions as chief information officers, agency information officers and other senior executive roles.  Wright has held various positions in Enterprise Architecture, Program Supervisory, and IT Technical and Management classifications. In 2005, he left DMV and moved to the California Department of Technology, at what was then Teale Data Center, until 2007, returning to the DMV in 2007 and remaining until his promotion to the deputy directorship for IT for the Office of Traffic Safety.

"My mission and vision aligns with the Office of Traffic Safety’s Mission and Vision," Wright told Techwire. "I am looking very forward to working with my new OTS family and making sure we provide the best customer service to the citizens of California."

Techwire will publish an interview with Wright in the coming days.
