Enterprise Data to Revenue project generates $128 million in first 15 months

Since being launched 15 months ago, the Franchise Tax Board’s Enterprise Data to Revenue (EDR) project has collected more than $128 million for the state budget, according to a press release from CGI, the lead IT firm working on the project.

As a performance-based project that pays CGI from a percentage of increased state revenue, EDR was launched to modernize the tax collection system to improve compliance, enhance tax return automation and go after billions of dollars in otherwise uncollected money.  FTB expects the program to level off at $1 billion in increased revenue annually.

“It’s great to have the commitment and competence of an organization like CGI and its partners on the team,” said Kem Musgrove, Technical Director, California Franchise Tax Board in a statement. “Additionally, we have the full support of everyone here at FTB, and that’s crucial for the project, today and over the next several years.”
