FI$Cal is the state’s system for budgeting, accounting, procurement and cash management, and it’s run jointly by the Department of Finance, the Department of General Services, the State Controller’s Office and the State Treasurer’s Office.

Ingenito is a veteran of state government who’s led the Department of FI$Cal since September 2015. She manages the “day-to-day operations of the FI$Cal Project Office with a $1.1B budget and the Department of FI$Cal with an annual budget of $93M while managing over $2.5 trillion in banking activities and over $300B in budgetary expenditures,” according to her LinkedIn profile.

Ingenito’s department recently reached a major milestone in integrating units of state government into the FI$Cal system, helping them “successfully convert, integrate and operate in the new system while working cooperatively and collaboratively with stakeholders including the Legislature, administration, and system end users.”

In the Techwire Members Briefing, Ingenito will provide an update on what her department has been focused on in the past year, what’s on the front burner now, and what opportunities may lie ahead for those in the vendor community. Briefing attendees will have a chance to offer questions during the live virtual briefing, which will run from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 6. Registration, open to Techwire members, is available online, along with more information.

Last week, Techwire presented a virtual briefing with state Chief Technology Innovation Officer Rick Klau, who leads the California Department of Technology’s Office of Enterprise Technology.

Ingenito has been busy lately with recruiting for some key openings on her leadership team, including for a chief information officer and a chief information security officer. Those searches continue.
