The California Highway Patrol has been upgrading its communications capabilities this year, including new dispatch console equipment, video and audio recording gear, and antennas.
From Jan. 1 through June 30, the five largest purchases of telecom gear by the CHP included one big-ticket spend — $3 million for dispatch console and radio gear, purchased through InterTalk Critical Information Systems. That purchase and the CHP’s four next-largest purchases during the first half of 2020 are listed in the accompanying Cal eProcure infographic. The vast majority of CHP's telecom spend so far this year has been with AT&T.
