Fortinet has announced that Jeremy Chau, a senior security and systems engineer with more than 20 years’ experience in IT, will be covering commercial accounts in Northern California.

Before joining Fortinet, Chau worked in security and IT in the public and private sectors. He joins Fortinet from a partner vendor, Symantec, and formerly McAfee/Intel Security.

Chau has focused on educating customers on security challenges, seeking to reduce the likelihood of a security breach.

He started in the IT industry in 1996, when he turned his interest in computers into a career by joining a local system builder/integrator in Sacramento, according to a Fortinet news release. He worked in the public sector, including with the California Air Resources Board and the Franchise Tax Board. He worked his way into security sales and engineering, and he has continued to focus on this area due to the need for improved security awareness and solutions across both public and private segments.
