Friedman Opens Koru Strategies Consultancy

Rebecca Friedman, a veteran of the California gov tech sector, has opened her own Sacramento-based consultancy, Koru Strategies.

“I’m passionate about improving the business of government,” Friedman told Techwire, “and this is an exciting opportunity for me to continue my work by supporting growth of the government technology industry.”

Her specialty is “developing a strategic plan to target opportunities in state and local government in the California market.”

Friedman has 15 years of experience including consulting and managing gov tech education events and strategic workshop delivery, and project management and execution. Most recently, Friedman was media services director for the Los Angeles County Internal Services Department within the IT Services division, “the operational IT services provider for a workforce of more than 110,000 employees in 37 county departments.”

Before her affiliation with Los Angeles County ISD, Friedman was national conference director for e.Republic, parent of Techwire; senior consultant for human capital for Deloitte; and marketing project manager for the Western Electrical Contractors Association.

Friedman received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her master’s in business administration from California State University, Sacramento. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
