Tim Harris, a Sacramento native who was the CEO of a public relations and communications agency for the past six years, has joined DialSource as Director of Marketing.

“I saw their growth and helped define the brand,” Harris told Techwire, “and as we developed the relationship, they decided to pull the comms in-house. It totally caught me off-guard. I did a lot of soul-searching — I had built my agency over the last six years and loved what I was doing, but I saw the potential and opportunities, and I thought, ‘Man, what a time to be in tech in Sacramento and to be with an organization that’s really hitting its stride.’ It was time to turn the page on one chapter and dive with both feet into the next one.”

He said that with DialSource, he’ll be leading the development and growth of the marketing and communications team.

“It’s fun to see an organization growing in Sacramento. Being from Sacramento and knowing the sleepiness of how downtown used to be, and now to help bring it to a national and international level — that’s exciting.”

Harris said DialSource is mainly B2B — “We sell to some organizations that are very involved in government contracting — Accenture, Salesforce  and our CEO has had a few talks with some government organizations. We’re figuring out what we need to build out internally to support the RFP process and the ability to play in that space and expand it,” he said, citing telephony as among the company's areas of business. Harris also blogs on the DialSource website.

Harris is a graduate of Jesuit High School and Sac State. In 2015, Harris was recognized as a 40 Under 40 Award Recipient by the Sacramento Business Journal. He currently serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento and is a co-founder of two locally based nonprofits, The Council for Giving and Assemble Sacramento.
