From Jan. 1 to June 30, the California Employment Development Department (EDD) made nearly 300 purchases of IT goods, with the costliest topping the mid-seven figures. During that time period, EDD made 296 IT goods purchases and spent $20,171,690 on its five most expensive buys. Here, with rounding, is what that money paid for, based on data in the State Contracting and Procurement Registration System:
- $7.9 million with Insight Public Sector for Microsoft enterprise license agreement, a three-year contract from June 28 to June 27, 2024.
- $5.9 million with NWN Corp. for “HP Zbook 17 G7 i7 16GB 256SSD,” most likely the purchase of HP Zbook Fury 17 i7 laptops, with 16 GB of memory. EDD made the purchase May 24.
- $3.6 million with NWN for “HP EliteDesk 800G6 SFFi7-1070016GB/500PC,” probably the purchase of HP EliteDesk 800 G6 mini-desktops. EDD made the purchase May 26.
- $1.4 million with Enterprise Networking Solutions Inc. (ENS-Inc) for an “Enterprise 12-month contract ... for Palo Alto hardware, software, licensing and support.” The contract for Palo Alto Networks products is from May 28 to May 27, 2022.
- $1.4 million with ENS-Inc for “Palo Alto Networks PA-5250 with redundant AC power supplies,” likely a reference to Palo Alto’s enterprise firewall product. EDD made the purchase May 26.
