Here's What Office of Tax Appeals Spent on IT Goods

In the first half of 2020, OTA’s five largest purchases included headsets (with microphones), color copier, computer equipment, help desk licensing, and technology to track network users’ devices.

The state Office of Tax Appeals (OTA) has purchased just five items worth more than $5,000 in the category of IT goods in the first six months of 2020.

The office was established in 2017 to hear appeals from taxpayers regarding various taxes and fees administered by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration and the Franchise Tax Board. The office is independent of the state’s tax agencies.

In the first half of 2020, OTA’s five largest purchases included headsets (with microphones), a color copier, computer equipment, help desk licensing, and technology to track network users’ devices. The five largest purchases are:

  • $91,501 for Bluetooth headsets with noise cancellation mic for use with phones and laptops, purchased through Tano Logistics.
  • $33,748 for Canon copier and related technology, purchased through Ray Morgan Co.
  • $27,411 for Dell computer equipment, purchased through PC Specialists Inc.
  • $8,260 for a license upgrade for Web desk help, purchased through Allied Network Solutions Inc.
  • $5,095 for “user device tracker” and related services, also purchased through Allied Network Solutions Inc.
