The state Department of Social Services’ (DSS) five largest purchases of IT goods for the first six months of 2020 included spending on hardware, software and licensing.

The data, from the Financial Information System for California, covers spending on IT goods as reported by the Department of Social Services from Jan. 1 to June 30. The data is within the State Contract and Procurement Registration System. 

The single largest purchase was for HP laptops, for $1,830,992 through NWN Corp.

The second- and third-largest purchases in the category were for ServiceNow software and related services — two contracts, each for $1,628,315 with HFtech Services, a certified small business based in Roseville.

The fourth-largest purchase of the period was for $681,619 for software from QualApps.

The fifth-largest expenditure was for $406,500 for a one-year subscription to Pondera Solutions’ FDaaS (Fraud Detection as a Service), sold through Patriot IT Solutions of Lincoln.
