Housing and Development Department Recruiting for CIO

“The CIO is responsible for all strategic planning, policy development, IT security, projects, and goal setting and ensures successful operation of the technology systems that support the operations of HCD. The CIO implements departmental and statewide IT and security policies, as well as the most complex information technology and telecommunication projects and systems.”

The state Department of Housing and Community Development is recruiting for a chief information officer.

The department oversees grant funding, mobile-home registration, building standards, planning and community development, and policy and research.

The CIO “has full management responsibility for the entire Information Technology Branch (ITB) and provides overall direction in planning, organizing, and leading the ITB,” says the Cal Careers job posting, which also contains a link to the online application process. “The CIO is responsible for all strategic planning, policy development, IT security, projects, and goal setting and ensures successful operation of the technology systems that support the operations of HCD. The CIO implements departmental and statewide IT and security policies, as well as the most complex information technology and telecommunication projects and systems.” 

The position calls for a Career Executive Assignment (C.E.A.) candidate, and the monthly salary range is $7,190 to $10,334.

The application deadline is April 12.   

Of interest to potential candidates: Over the past year, the department spent $3.8 million on IT goods and services and telecom, fairly evenly distributed among contract types.
