The California Department of Technology (CDT) is seeking candidates for the position of chief product officer (IT manager II), who will serve as the Office of Enterprise Technology’s (OET) section chief over Product and Technology Innovation Services and will be “responsible for staying up-to-date on emerging technologies across all areas of OET’s technology stack and defining the next generation of trusted enterprise platforms and solutions,” according to the job posting. “Specifically, this includes trail-blazing new engineering solutions for the cloud, fostering DevSecOps practices, product planning, and management throughout the product lifecycle, coordination of new features/functionalities, optimizing product strategy and roadmaps, and utilizing agile methodologies to guide enterprise technology projects though iterative sprints.”

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is recruiting for a system operations engineer (IT specialist II) who will be responsible for “designing, architecting, building and delivering secure innovative solutions and services that drive health care quality, and for IT strategy formulation, enterprise architecture, enterprise portfolio management and enterprise governance,” according to the job posting.

The engineer “is responsible for systems engineering, architecture, design, configuration and maintenance of all aspects of centralized server administration as well as promoting and deploying server administration solutions to programs and divisions throughout DHCS,” the posting notes. The role requires expertise in software installation, program scripting, maintenance, backup and recovery, security design, and online monitoring of all types of servers. The types of servers include VMware ESXi virtual hosts and servers, file and print, email, domain controller, database, communication, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, proxy, backup and recovery, performance and monitoring, and application servers.
