Matthews Joins Microsoft as Azure Solutions Specialist

Microsoft’s government team has added a longtime IT sales professional to its state and local government team in Northern California.

Sara Matthews has joined Microsoft as an Azure Solutions specialist for state and local government (SLG), a continuation of her professional concentration on cloud technology.

“I’m beyond excited to have joined the Microsoft SLG team as an Azure Solutions specialist,” Matthews told Techwire. “I am eager to help my fellow citizens of California by guiding our state towards a digital transformation to support this amazing state.”

Matthews has worked in the technology sector since 2008, when she began as an account executive with NCC Group. Her subsequent affiliations include having served as an inside-sales representative for Synnex Corp.; as a senior enterprise account manager and then regional manager for business development for Oracle; as a technology sales representative for Amazon Web Services; and, most recently, as regional enterprise IaaS/AppDev cloud manager and then cloud sales executive for strategic accounts, again with Oracle.

In her LinkedIn profile, Matthews attributes her success to a “consultative approach to business strategy and goals, performance measurements and mapping solutions to specific, quantifiable results with full ownership of sales cycle: prospect and business discovery through implementation, account management and growth.”

Matthews, who lives in the greater Sacramento area, is a cum laude alumna of the University of California at Santa Barbara, where she earned her bachelor of arts in communications/mass media.
