Naveen most recently served as senior specialist in Azure for state and local government at Microsoft, from May 2021 through April. The Folsom resident took that role upon joining the company in May 2021. He previously served as director of enterprise architecture for public sector at Oracle from July 2014-May 2021.

“It has been a lot busier, yes, it’s nonstop action,” Naveen said of his new role. “As a company, Microsoft, what inspired me the most among a few other reasons was the company’s motto saying ‘Empower others to achieve more.’ Microsoft has committed to empowering the employees so we can empower everybody to achieve more. That, I find inspiring.”

As client executive for the state of California, Naveen will cover public safety and justice and, more specifically, he will focus on the California Natural Resources Agency, the California Environmental Protection Agency and the departments and entities within each. His team will include specialists in technical knowledge, data science, analytics, infrastructure, application development, dev/ops and other areas including software as a service.

“My focus is on looking at what the customer’s strategic business requirements are, what their business goals are,” Naveen said. “My focus remains on helping them use technology as an enabler for better business outcomes. For better outcomes to serve Californians — including myself.”

Naveen’s areas of expertise include strategic planning, infrastructure design and deployment, software development life cycle oversight, IT operations, emerging technologies, budgeting and cost control, and systems integration, according to LinkedIn. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Savitribai Phule Pune University. He is Microsoft certified in Azure fundamentals and in accessibility in action and, from Oracle, as a certified architect associate in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
