Netskope, a global cloud security firm that does business with California state and local government, has named Gary Schwartz the Cloud Security sales manager for State, Local and Education.

Schwartz has almost 30 years in the technology field, starting in 1990. He has experience with enterprise security solutions, mission-critical software for enterprise network, systems, applications and data management, as well as help desk and security solutions.

Schwartz joined Netskope from Verizon Enterprise Solutions, where he most recently was security director. Before his 12 years with Verizon, Schwartz held a variety of sales and executive roles with Microsoft and CA Technologies, among others.

“I'm very excited to have joined the Netskope team,” Schwartz told Techwire.

Netskope is focused on expanding its SLED business across the U.S., including California, and building that business is why Schwartz was brought in, according to Scott Bigham, Netskope’s Southwestern regional sales manager for government and education.
