New M Corp Flagship Product Gauges Project Readiness

The Sacramento-based IT and consulting company, which serves large state departments, also has a rebrand and a new website in the works.

M Corp, which sells information technology and consulting services to state and local governments, has launched a division focused on creating new products.

The new business unit will focus on what M Corp in a statement described as “as-a-service products that reduce barriers to mission-centric outcomes and eliminate technical debt.”

The launch comes as all types of public agencies — spurred on by the pandemic but also pre-pandemic trends toward digitalization — continue to make significant technology upgrades. M Corp is also readying for a “corporate-level rebrand” and a new website set to launch this summer.

“Our new product division is disrupting the status quo by offering clients a real pathway to achieving their vision and goals, while also reducing risks associated with modernization,” said M Corp CEO Alex Castro in the statement.

M Corp, which has its headquarters in Sacramento, has officially launched its flagship product ReM Score. The company described ReM Score as an “innovate readiness assessment” tool to help leaders assess risk before heading into a project.

The company also plans to release subscription-based services in the near term to help M Corp clients modernize their operations.

M Corp also detailed the personnel who will lead the new product team.

Ryan Clements, who has startup, IT and chief operating officer experience, will work as senior VP of product solutions. Emily Holtz, who has been a digital strategy consultant for Gartner and a technical illustrator, will work as VP of product operations. The effort also will involve engineering, sales, marketing and product management professionals.

The company has promoted Tom Larson to senior VP of its professional services division.

“Our new operating model will allow the professional services team to continue thriving with increased focus and energy,” Larson said via the statement. “I appreciate the hard work of our dedicated engineers, analysts and consultants that have helped make M Corp a trusted brand.”

Among the agencies M Corp has worked with are California’s Department of Public Health, the Employment Development Department and the State Lands Commission.
