The IT community has heard multiple times that the public sector faces a recruitment challenge, leaving many IT positions unfilled. Here are several public-sector job openings that will be closing soon.

The city of Burbank has expedited its search for a chief information officer. The listing will close on Dec. 3.

The CIO will lead a team of 33 staffers to support all 15 of the city's departments. A master's degree is recommended for the $179,436-a-year position.

The Department of Health Care Services has an opening for a Multi-Sourcing Integration and Digital Services Teams leader. The program falls within the California Medicaid Management Information System Division.

The team leader will act as a policy adviser and maintain a framework of standards and procedures for teams to deliver services to stakeholders. The position comes with a monthly salary range of $9,625 to $11,465. Applications must be filed before Nov. 30.

The Office of Systems Integration is seeking a project management lead and scrum master for the Child Welfare Digital Services (CWDS) program.

The scrum master would support agile project management and business analysis for the program. The position filing date closes on Nov. 14 and includes a salary between $6,057 and $7,961 a month.
