Opportunity Alert: DMV Seeks Maintenance, Support Vendors

The California Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking tech companies to assist it in software maintenance and support, in three different areas of IT. But the department has one key prerequisite for would-be applicants that may narrow the field somewhat.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking vendors as it moves to renew three annual software maintenance and support contracts.

DMV issued three Requests for Quotations (RFQ) Thursday, each for a year’s worth of support and maintenance for Oracle software. But the agency doesn’t want responses from just any technology company. Respondents must be licensed Oracle resellers, not third-party resellers.

Each RFQ covers a different area of DMV usage for Oracle software, including its development environment, financial database, and investigations case management. However, estimated contract values vary somewhat. The estimated value of the RFQ for maintenance and support for the development environment and investigations case management is each projected to be $50,000 or less. The value of the RFQ for the financial database is estimated at more than $500,000.

Written questions on the RFQs are due by 1 p.m. Friday. Quotes are due by 10 a.m. May 4, and contract award will be at 1 p.m. May 6. Contract term will be June 1, 2020-May 31, 2021.
