IT veteran David Walsh has joined Palo Alto Networks as an account executive selling to state agencies in Sacramento.

He began his career as a network engineer, first with Apple and then with Yahoo, followed by tenures as a systems engineer for Cisco and as a senior solutions architect for Kovarus. Walsh then was named a senior account executive for VMWare, “one of the first networking and security specialists on the West Coast,” he said. Serving public-sector customers from Alaska to Chicago, he was twice named to the Chairman’s Club and always exceeded his goal, he said.

Walsh, who has more than 20 years of IT experience, including 10 serving public-sector customers, says he has been helping build highly resilient and secure networks his entire career. He says accountability and customer loyalty are among his key values.

Walsh, a resident of El Dorado Hills, attended Moorpark College and has completed numerous professional courses and programs.
