The California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) is recruiting for a chief technology business officer (Career Executive Assignment) to serve as a member of the IT senior leadership team and provide direction and policy guidance to the Technology Business Management Division (TBMD) and Information Technology Services Branch (ITSB).

“The CTBO provides direction on technology operations services and has full management responsibility for TBMD,” the job posting says, “including broad authority for developing, recommending and implementing IT operations and service policies with significant impact on all CalPERS retirement, health, and investment programs.”

The CTBO leads seven major IT support areas: Architecture Development; Enterprise Analytics and Data Services; Information Management; Program Management and Support Services; Portfolio and Workload Management Services; IT Management Services; and Enterprise Service Management.

“The CTBO represents CalPERS with various state and public agency entities and provides consultation and advice to high-level program managers, Executive Staff, and the Board of Administration,” the job posting notes.

The monthly salary range for this position is $10,360 to $12,341, and the application deadline is Oct. 2.
