Longtime software chief Ajay Awatramani, who has worked in private-sector product management for the last 15 years, has been appointed chief product officer at Cornerstone, a global human capital management leader with people development solutions in use by around 6,300 clients globally.

Awatramani was most recently head of product and GTM at Adobe, arriving via its acquisition of Marketo in 2018. In that role, he led product, strategy and go-to-market for Adobe’s B2B Digital Experience business; as vice president for global product management at Marketo from 2015, he drove its growth and transformation into a market leader, “more than doubling revenues through founder-led, private equity and strategic hands,” Cornerstone said in a news release.

“I’m thrilled to join the seasoned product and go-to-market team at Cornerstone, with leaders and individuals who are passionate about helping guide people through their careers and advance their skillsets,” Awatramani said in a statement. At Cornerstone, he’ll be responsible for leading product strategy, management and design as the company “doubles down on its vision to accelerate innovation and further strengthen its leading people development solutions.”

“With Ajay joining our executive leadership team and leading our product team into a new era, Cornerstone can accelerate its strategic rollout of world-class technology that will empower millions of people around the world to realize their potential,” CEO Phil Saunders — to whom Awatramani reports directly — said in a statement.

Awatramani has a master's in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and has more than 10 patents filed and granted.
