Pondera Solutions of Sacramento, which specializes in technology related to combating government fraud, waste and abuse, has promoted Greg Loos to company president and brought in Mark Norris, an experienced operations manager who previously served as the chief financial officer of POM Wonderful, to serve as COO.

Both Loos and Norris will report to CEO Jon Coss.

Loos will lead Pondera’s client-facing business operations, which include client project implementations, new business development, strategic account management, marketing, and overseeing Pondera’s Special Investigations Unit, the company announced Thursday. During Loos’ tenure as COO, Pondera has doubled the size of its workforce and tripled annual revenues over the past two years.

“I have known and worked with Greg for 17 years,” Coss said. “When he agreed to join me at Pondera four years ago, it marked an inflection point for the company. His industry knowledge, work ethic, and integrity have accelerated our growth and delivered tremendous value to our clients. By promoting him to president, we are giving Greg more responsibility over Pondera’s most important business functions, and this can only be good for Pondera and our clients.”

Norris will lead Pondera’s growth-focused business operations, corporate development, human resources, infrastructure and compliance. Norris joined Pondera from Serent Capital, a San Francisco-based private equity firm that invests in high-growth technology and services businesses. Serent made a significant growth investment in Pondera in June 2017. Prior to Serent, Norris was the chief financial officer for Performance Team and held several senior management positions at The Wonderful Company, the holding company for brands like POM Wonderful, Telefora and Fiji Water.

“After working with the Pondera team throughout the investment process,” Norris said, “I became passionate about the company’s people and mission and jumped at the opportunity to join Pondera full-time. I’m impressed with how far this company has come in just a few short years, and I’m even more excited about where it will be going.”

Pondera also recently appointed respected Harvard University professor and noted author Dr. Malcolm Sparrow to the company’s board of directors. Sparrow, a nationally recognized author and Harvard professor, is faculty chair of Harvard University’s Executive Program and a professor of the Practice of Public Management at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. In addition to License to Steal, Sparrow has written seven other books and is an internationally recognized expert in his field, having testified before numerous U.S. House and Senate committees and in state legislatures.
