Rami Zakaria nominated as chief information officer for Sacramento County

[Updated: 11/15/11 – Rami Zakaria was approved by the Board of Supervisors.]

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will consider Rami Zakaria of Elk Grove for the position of county chief information officer, according to public agenda for next week’s meeting.

In a memo to the board, County Executive Bradley Hudson recommended Zakaria for the position that was vacated when David Villanueva was promoted to the Internal Services Agency Administrator position last February.

The Sacramento County Department of Personnel Services conducted a national search that resulted in 79 applications from both internal and external candidates. Zakaria is currently the chief of e-Government and Business Services division within the county’s Department of Technology.

If approved, he will start on November 20. The position pays $139,541. More background on his nomination can be found here.
