Sales Veteran Pirie Joins Oracle as Cloud Rep, Serving State and Local Government

Veteran technology executive Carl Pirie of Sacramento has joined Oracle as state and local government cloud representative, serving public agencies in California.

Pirie has more than 35 years’ experience in sales, account management and program management. He has specialized in data center technologies and solutions, but for the past several years he has focused primarily on cloud technology in partnership with state and local governments.

Pirie has held sales and management roles with companies including Northrop Grumman, Dimension Data, EMC and NetApp.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining Oracle Cloud, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity,” Pirie told Industry Insider — California. “I think Oracle Cloud is extremely well-suited to meet the needs of large enterprise and government customers and is reaching an inflection point in its trajectory. Pirie is a graduate of the University of Maryland, with bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Agricultural and Resource Economics, a Master of Science degree in Computer Systems Management, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance.

He also holds professional certifications from Oracle and Amazon Web Services.
