San Jose Posts RFP for Cybersecurity Products, Services

"Calling all crazy-awesome cybersecurity firms!" says a tweet from the city's Chief Information Officer Rob Lloyd. "San Jose has released its RFP for Advanced Cybersecurity Products and Services."

The city of San Jose, a leader in government tech, has issued a Request for Proposal for advanced cybersecurity products and services.

"Calling all crazy-awesome cybersecurity firms!" says a tweet from the city's Chief Information Officer Rob Lloyd. "San Jose has released its RFP for Advanced Cybersecurity Products and Services." Lloyd describes what he's seeking as "an innovative multi-government, multi-award, multi-service approach to fulfill a breadth of government needs."

The RFP has seven components:

Package A: Information Systems Security Assessment Services
Package B: Virtual Security Operations Center Services and Tools
Package C: Cybersecurity End User Training and Testing
Package D: Incident Response — Legal, Media and Cyber Forensic Guidance Services and Tools
Package E: Firewall Management Services and Tools
Package F: Advanced Threat Protection Services and Tools
Package G: Supplemental Advanced Cybersecurity Services   

The city, which is in Santa Clara County, is seeking a two-year contract, with three options for annual renewals. 

"The City's Local and Small Business Enterprise (LBE/SBE) Preference is applicable to this RFP," says the post. "If your business has an office in Santa Clara County and a valid City of San Jose business tax certificate, you should refer to the RFP instructions for further information on applying for this Preference." Application deadline is June 17.
