The San Francisco Mayor's Office of Civic Innovation (MOCI) is seeking two Innovation Fellows to join city government for one year to help government "become more collaborative, inventive and responsive" to residents.

"Fellows will work with change makers and innovators in City Departments to support our team’s work on high priority initiatives to improve the safety, cleanliness, and livability of San Francisco," says a job description for the positions.

The eligibility requirements include "academic achievement, written and oral communication skills, leadership potential and ability, dedication to public service; and an entrepreneurial spirit appropriate for participating in this unique program."

The Fellows will spend one year embedded in city government. Desirable skills include partnership and project management; initiative development; and design and research implementation.

"The program is designed primarily for mid-career professionals with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in innovation fields," the MOCI announcement says. "Applicants from all majors and academic disciplines will be considered and are encouraged to apply." Each Fellowship has a salary range of $61,516 to $74,776.

A city webinar, explaining more details of the program, is scheduled for 4 p.m. July 31. Application deadline for the Fellowships is Aug. 7. More information about the program is available on the MOCI website.
