Splunk has a new state, local and education (SLED) territory sales manager focused on public-sector accounts in Northern California.

Ed Menon joined Splunk after two years as a SLED account manager at CA Technologies. He was also with cloud management company Innotas as an account executive for four years.

Menon has worked as an account executive for file-sharing company Box and at the collaborative platform Mindjet.

He has a bachelor's in management from Arizona State University.

Splunk helps dissect big data, created by all parts of IT infrastructures, into tools that users can harness for operational intelligence. That can apply to incident and security analytics, and has been used in crime mapping in Sacramento County and as a cybersecurity tool in the city of Los Angeles.
