State Agencies Recruiting for IT Supervisor, Specialist Roles

Two state agencies are recruiting for higher-level IT positions, and application deadlines for both are within the next two weeks.

The California Department of Public Health is recruiting for a principal enterprise architect (IT Specialist III), who reports to the department’s chief information officer and who will be “responsible for providing the mastery level of leadership, designing standards, roadmaps, and providing guidance on these work activities and resources for the … Enterprise Architecture (EA) team. The ITS III monitors enterprise-wide shared services to ensure alignment with the department’s Vision for 2035.”

The ITS III will also ensure establishment of complex and critical information interoperability among other department programs and other state and federal programs. The ITS III also leads the Enterprise Architecture Review Board and works with the Executive Steering Committee.

The state Department of Toxic Substances Control is recruiting for a system services supervisor (IT Supervisor II) to supervise Systems Services Unit (SSU) staff “responsible for maintaining network connectivity and providing technical support for four major regional offices (Sacramento, Berkeley, Chatsworth, and Cypress) and five satellite offices (Clovis, San Diego, El Centro, Berkeley Environmental Chemistry Laboratory, and Los Angeles Environmental Chemistry Laboratory).”

The supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and reviewing network activities, and independently performing a variety of analytical, processing, and programming tasks and related network functions. In addition, the supervisor has a key role in Infrastructure Service and Support, Infrastructure Research and Innovation, network services and information security.
