Each of the three bureau directorships is classified as a Career Executive Assignment B (CEA B): “Responsible for extensive managerial and program administration or broad program manager experience with substantial participation in the formulation, operation, and/or evaluation of program policies.”
The positions, which are in the Technology Services Division and report to the FTB’s Chief Information Officer, are:
- Data Bureau Director (BD): “Responsible for ensuring that the systems and applications meet current and evolving data related business requirements, tax laws and/or legislative statutes, and other executive mandates,” the job posting says. “The incumbent actively participates in departmental decision making with respect to internal business operations.” Desirable qualifications for the position include knowledge of tax laws in relation to IT operations and knowledge of data architecture as it relates to enterprise data governance.
- Initiation Bureau Director: “Responsible for providing a framework for the department’s centralized technology in Portfolio Management, Technology Project Management, Enterprise Release and Technology Recovery,” the job posting says. “This is accomplished through the BD’s overall direction, coordination and policy development.”
- Operations Management Bureau Director: “Responsible for providing a framework for the department’s centralized technology in personal computer management, IT Service Operations, Command Center Operations and IT Asset Management relating to the department’s computing environment,” the job posting says.
