State Agency Recruiting for Chief of Emerging Technologies

As a member of the senior leadership team, the chief is responsible for managing Web services including the Internet, intranet, collaboration, training and other systems. Emerging technologies in use include robotic process automation, vendor portal and artificial intelligence solutions including chatbots.

The Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) is recruiting for a chief of its Emerging Technologies and Integration Services Office (IT manager II).

As a member of the FI$Cal senior leadership team, the chief is responsible for managing FI$Cal’s Web services including the Internet, intranet, collaboration, training and other systems, according to the job posting.

FI$Cal’s emerging technologies include robotic process automation (RPA), vendor portal and artificial intelligence solutions including chatbots, and the operations of FI$Cal’s Enterprise Integration Services.  

“This position has full management responsibility for organizing, planning, directing, coordinating, and managing all activities associated with the FI$Cal Emerging Technologies and Integration Services (ETIS) Office,” the posting says. The duties of the position break down as follows, according to the duty statement for the job:

  • 35 percent Emerging Technologies and Web Services operations
  • 30 percent Enterprise Integration Services operations
  • 10 percent operational integration
  • 10 percent administrative
  • 10 percent staff management
  • 5 percent other duties
The position has a monthly salary range of $9,725 to $11,821, and the application deadline is Dec. 18.
