Sacramento Workshop Targets State and Local Procurement

Sacramento County government and the Sacramento Public Agency Consortium (SacPAC) are hosting an event Thursday aimed at those interested in government contracting and procurement. The event is billed as the 2018 Regional Connecting Point.

Sacramento County government and the Sacramento Public Agency Consortium (SacPAC) are hosting an event Thursday aimed at those interested in government contracting and procurement. The event is billed as the 2018 Regional Connecting Point.

The agenda includes workshops, panel discussions, small-business resources and networking opportunities. It will include representatives of the state Department of General Services, the California Highway Patrol, the Public Utilities Commission; county and city governments including Sacramento, Placer County and Roseville; utilities including Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Pacific Gas & Electric, and Sacramento Regional Transit; and colleges including the Los Rios district and California State University. Business groups will include SCORE and the Sacramento Employment and Training Agency.

In addition, private companies will be represented, including Siemens, Turner Construction and First Choice. 

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 6151 H St. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the cost is $15. Registration can be done online, and more information about the event is also available.
