State Department Recruiting for Director of Tech Support Bureau

The position calls for experience in the areas of network, hardware, storage, software, and communications systems, such as Cisco Network, NetApp Storage, VMware Server, and Windows/Linux Operating Systems.

The California Department of Justice is recruiting for a director (Career Executive Assignment) of the Technology Support Bureau.

“The Bureau Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Strategic Transport & Technology Services Branch and the Production & Network Services Branch within the Technology Support Bureau (TSB),” the job posting says. “The TSB is responsible for providing infrastructure services to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS), the Criminal Justice Information System control software, and the computer operating systems and their environments.”

The director supervises IT Manager IIs (ITM II) and an executive assistant, and indirectly supervises IT Manager Is (ITM I).

Desirable qualifications for the position include:

  • Experience managing and supervising a large, highly technical and interdisciplinary staff.
  • Experience with the development and implementation of policy related to the areas of data processing and the criminal justice system.
  • Experience in the areas of network, hardware, storage, software, and communications systems, such as Cisco Network, NetApp Storage, VMware Server, and Windows/Linux Operating Systems.
  • Experience serving as a liaison between a large governmental agency and other state and federal agencies, professional law enforcement, and other associations.
  • Experience with technology assessment, evaluation, and modernization.

The position has a monthly salary range of $10,360 to $12,341, and the application deadline is July 10.
