State Office Recruiting for 2 Engineers for Lead Roles

The Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) is recruiting for two software engineers (IT Specialist I) to serve as technical leads within the Enterprise Platforms Group in the IT Operations Branch.

The engineers will be part of a technical team that delivers enterprise IT solutions supporting and enhancing OSHPD’s core services. The engineers are expected to be “highly motivated and capable of working within a fast-paced IT environment,” says the posting for the two openings

OSHPD’s mission includes ensuring that hospital buildings are safe, offering financial assistance to individuals and health-care institutions, and collecting and publishing health-care data.

The engineers will serve as application developers throughout the software development life cycle. They will lead technical teams through design, testing, implementation and support of OSHPD’s most complex system architectures and electronic information processing systems.

“These systems are typically multi-tiered, object-oriented, web-based applications,” the job posting explains. “The incumbent researches and evaluates emerging technologies, providing detailed analysis and proposals for possible enhancements and optimization improvements.”

The positions’ scope “typically includes multiple program areas and involves planning, developing and implementing technological solutions that are essential to the missions of the overall organization or affect large numbers of people on a long-term or continuous basis in the Software Engineering or System Engineering domains,” according to the posting.

Applicants should have:

• Experience using common application development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET Framework/Core, and Microsoft SQL Management Studio.

• Web development experience using CSS, HTML, JavaScript.

• Programming experience using C#, Ruby, Python, PHP.

• SQL database administration experience.

• API development experience.
