State Recruitments Include IT Architects, Privacy Analyst

Agencies seeking to fill these positions include the California Public Employees Retirement System, the Employment Development Department, the Natural Resources Agency and the Department of Consumer Affairs.

Several key state agencies are recruiting for significant IT positions.

The California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) is recruiting for a test infrastructure architect and tools administrator (IT specialist II) in the Application Engineering and Architecture unit within the Enterprise Solutions Development Division (ESDD). According to the job posting, areas of desirable experience include test tool administration, scripting language skills, the software development life cycle, software testing methodologies and test automation frameworks. In addition, qualifications include experience with Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), IBM ClearCase, IBM ClearQuest, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, SharePoint and Jenkins, as well as knowledge of identity management systems such as Oracle Identity and Access Management and IBM’s Security Access Manager. The position has a monthly salary range of $7,365 to $9,869, and the application deadline is Nov. 5.

CalPERS is also seeking an IT solution architect (IT specialist II) to provide systems support and conduct analysis to leverage technology solutions to meet business needs. According to the job posting, the successful candidate will keep the applications current by implementing new features as released and performing system upgrades and implementing application enhancements by identifying user requirements, evaluating solutions to meet the requirements, and configuring, executing, testing and implementing the solution. This position is responsible for application development and support, IT administration and team development. Additional information about this position is listed in the duty statement. The Employment Development Department (EDD) is recruiting for a privacy analyst (IT specialist I) to provide consultation and technical assistance to system owners in EDD in order to develop and maintain Privacy Impact Assessments and Data Classification as part of system authorization. The analyst reviews and analyzes proposed and existing legislation affecting the Public Records Act, the Information Practices Act, and the California Unemployment Insurance Code, according to the job posting. The position has a monthly salary range of $5,562 to $8,999, and the application deadline is Oct. 25.

The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) is recruiting for a configurator (IT specialist I) to “provide expert knowledge on all technologies related to the maintenance, development and operations including administration and configuration supporting the department’s software systems,” according to the job posting. The configurator will work with DCA’s IT enterprise systems in guiding projects, programs and stakeholders in the system’s maintenance and operations activities, including defect tracking, automated workflow and online eSignature. The position has a monthly salary range of $5,562 to $8,999, and the application deadline is Oct. 31.

The Natural Resources Agency is recruiting for an information security engineer (IT specialist II) to “analyze and respond to security threats from various security platforms and technologies,” according to the duty statement, which is available through the job posting. The engineer “performs advanced technology security problem solving and countermeasure activities,” and monitors and manages critical technologies. The position has a monthly salary range of $7,365 to $9,869, and the application deadline is Oct. 26.
