State Tech Agency's Top IT Service Buys in June

Two purchases of $500,000 each account for much of the nearly $1.7 million that the state technology agency spent in June, and likely reflect the ongoing technology modernization, move to digitization and its growing work with data.

The California Department of Technology, which among its duties provides cost-saving IT products and services to other state customer departments and assists them with IT projects, made these five top purchases of IT services in the month of June.

Their precise purpose isn’t specified; however, the department appears to be continuing an ongoing, statewide technology modernization and obtaining the necessary software to do so. Together, the buys totaled nearly $1.7 million, with rounding. According to state data, CDT’s five largest buys by the dollar amount are:

• $500,000 to the Conservation Biology Institute for an Integrated Regional Planning Program.

• $500,000 with Tek Yantra Inc., for Site Reliability Engineering for Cloud Streamline Consulting.

• $249,000 with Carahsoft Technology Corp. for a 12-month public-sector subscription to Google Enterprise.

• $240,000 with Syntasa Corp. for “services to build a Digital Data Hub and provide Analytics and Insights services.”

• $186,000 with Carahsoft for a 12-month Syntasa “Mid-Pack software subscription package.”
