CSDC, a company that has offered a range of software to government agencies for more than two decades, has launched an environmental health tool aimed at California counties.
The California Environmental Health Solution, built on CSDC’s Amanda platform, is meant to help counties in the state — there are 58 of them, and most have environmental health departments — report to the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS).
According to a press release, the tool offers two-way integration with CERS, a mobile app for inspectors to manage their cases with, environmental health permit templates, a citizen-facing Web portal and an open application programming interface (API).
The agencies meant to use the tool are in charge of ensuring healthy air and water, but deal with a whole array of issues ranging from noise complaints to solid waste as well. Thus, they manage a lot of permits, inspections and reporting activity. Some cities also have departments that do the same kind of work, according to the statement.
Two-way integration with the state system means users will both be able to report information and pull data on things like violations.
Fresno County has started using the Environmental Health Solution.
CSDC’s announcement comes one day after Accela announced its own application for environmental health work.
