Fletcher, who has worked in the tech sector since 2006, comes into his new role with the goal of “leading sales and operations to expand aggressive growth in SLED (state, local and education) and health care throughout the West.”

“Vernon not only brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the public sector, but also an extensive network and years of strategic relationships that he’s built and maintained over his tenure,” Peter Castaldi, AHEAD’s executive vice president, told Techwire.

Fletcher has worked for multiple technology companies, most recently having been a cloud sales executive with Google. In that role, he “accelerated digital transformation” for key state agencies, including state hospitals.

Fletcher told Techwire he joined AHEAD based on the strength of its products and services.

“I chose AHEAD for its incredible expertise in building digital platforms for its customers,” he said. “Its abilities in delivering digital transformation are second to none. In this role, I’ll be managing the sales and operations of AHEAD’s aggressive growth throughout SLED and health care in the West.”

Fletcher’s previous affiliations, in addition to Google, include sales and management roles with HP, Patriot IT Corp., VMware, Qualtrics and Dell.

Fletcher received his bachelor of science degree in engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and his master’s in business administration from Webster University. Before getting into the technology industry, he was an officer in the Air Force, holding a Top Secret clearance.
